    Does anybody else play?

I was wondering if anyone here played MtG also. I think that the wowtcg is UDE's equivalent to wizards Magic, hands down. they both play smooth (as long as the players are compitent, anyway.) So, if anyone cares, let me know. Also, does anyone here know anything about REAL heavy metal? Real as in, straight from the 80's. Metallica, Megadeath, etc. this I would also like to know. I'm tired of wannabe metalheads.

Of course Dio. Iron maiden and Slayer are cool too. I've never heard of obituary. I do like that stuff, but not just that stuff, ya know? Hmm..... maybe "wannabe metalheads" wasn't quite the way to put it.........but you get my point.

    Re: Does anybody else play?

I do listen to about everything music wise (Except rap *thumbs down*). I have heard a lot of the bands you posted about, but like two or three songs from each tops. I don't really buy CDs of bands, I just listen on random to any song in the genre. I do have some Dragon Force CDs and it seems that when ever I bring them up people flip out. I like the sound of there music, but still people usually flip out on them.

I have been playing magic since around Scourge, but I played on and off years before that. I usually dislike other MTG players because they are usually arrogant and total dicks. When I judges at the TCG store near me I got in a huge fight with a player who was being a *** to me and not taking me seriously as a judge. It ended up ... bad. I was bruised a bit on my head and he pulled a "weapon" on me. It was really a dull knife, but it managed to give me a scar under my right ear. After then, I still judged but the kid got in trouble with the cops and ***, so hes long gone. Back when Future Sight first came out they had an odd number of players, so I entered myself in to make it even and was really just messing around and having fun. Obviously I came in last for that, but last week I entered a Future/Planar/Time Spiral draft and was entered in again to make it even by another player (So he paid for me if I gave him my drafted deck at the end. No big deal.) I had to forfeit the second player I was up against, but if I didn't I would have been around 3rd place. I ran a White/Blue control deck and it fucking owned so much face, the first deck I fought was a token spawn deck, but I was running some card that healed me for 2 for each creature a player had, so I ended up with over 80 health and managed to stay alive till they decked. It was fun, I am and have always been a very casual player who knows the rules to help others without being a total *** about it. I currently run a Stuffy Doll deck that is SO F'ING SLOW .... Its Red/Blue/Black (Red, DMG. Blue, Counter/Draw. Black, Removal.) IDK why it is slow, It just is.

     Hope that helps.

    Re: Does anybody else play?

    Zuty,

Dragonforce is cool. I haven't heard much of them, though. Flip out good, or bad?

I've been playing since right after Mirrodin came out. I've never played in any tourneys, casual or pro. I'm an extremely casual player. I currently have too many decks to list here, since all I can do is build them at the moment. The only person to play with is my little bro, and he's not very into it. ~_~ I also have Stuffy Doll, but in a Rakdos/Gruul deck. It's still kinda slow, but kicks ass like nobody's business. if you'd care to talk more magic later, I wouldn't be opposed. And of course WoW, but that goes without saying.

So, having played MtG and WoWtcg, how do you think they compare? I think it works well for "Advanced vs. Speedy". Magic is advanced because it is very intricate, but can be painfully slow sometimes. WoW is speedy because the system is relatively smooth, but by no means any less detailed. As I said, I think they are equivilant, each being an opposite end of the spectrum. Different yet the same, in their own ways.

What kind of WoW deck are you running at the moment? I don't know how people can choose just one, but maybe it's just my problem. I have to go with Warlock for now.

And yes, it does help. Thanks

    Re: Does anybody else play?

Flip out bad, They say its "Not real music" or "They have to many/to long solos". There very good IMO, just not a lot of support that I have seen.

    I run in MTG:

Stuffy Doll (U/R/B) - Massive damage and counter/removal to stall till I can get out Mishra and then play Stuffy Doll to get all 4 copies of it out from ANYWHERE because of Mishra's ability. Very slow, around turn 5-6 it picks up fast. Makes great use of Shivan Meteor and Kindle the Carnage. Currently  Legal.

Unnamed (G) - Based off of Gabrial Nasifs twelve post deck, but without the cloudposts and faster IMO. Rushes through my deck for tons of lands, VERY VERY heavy mana excel. Turn 4 or 5 Darksteel Colossus and Platinum Angel with a Darksteel Shield equiped to it. Turn 6 win. Not legal.

Slow and Painful (B/W) - Black/White stall and slowly kills the player. Causes opponent to discard and take damage from Megrim while also being annoyed by either Holy Day or Darkness. Sudden Spoil stops heavy zergs and then wipes the board with Oros. Was made as a teaching deck, not very good at all.

I agree with your Advance and Speedy theory. MTG has SOOOOOO many different deck abilities. (IE. Rush, Mill, Excel, Control, Etc.) while WoW TCG is not that advanced, but has a lot of the aspects of MTG.

    I run in WoW:

Troll Mage (Ta'zo) - Very heavy damage and very fast. I love it.
Blood Elf Paladin (Aleyah Dawnborn) - Have not finished making it yet, but should cover any situation. Will have to play it more to see more.
Troll Hunter (Sen'zir) - One of my favorites. If I have a good pet hand, I play pets. If I have a good weapon hand, I play weapons. Good either way.

    Re: Does anybody else play?

    Zuty,

From what little I've heard, they are pretty good. This is what I meant by, "wannabe". ~_~  It's not real metal/rock without some solos.

That's interesting. I also have Mishra with stuffy doll. But I only have one copy. I can only imagine the horror of four. O_O I don't think any of my decks are legal (another reason I like casual), but I don't have anything to check them against. I think I have like twnty MtG decks. If you would like me to list them (and/or my wow decks), I will, but otherwise it's not that important.

I'm glad you agree with me. And you put it better than I did, too. ^_^ May I ask how big your collections are? I'm big on collecting things.

    Re: Does anybody else play?

    Back to my Stuffy deck,
I once got out 4 dolls and played Kindle the Carnage with a full hand of 3-6 CC cards. Kindle the Carnage is BY FAR the most underrated MTG card ever. It reads:

Discard a card from your hand at random. This deals damage to all creatures equal to that cards casting cost. You may repeat this AS MUCH AS YOU WANT.

So I drop around 30 damage by discarding my whole hand, So 30 to each stuffy doll making it a 120 damage attack to my opponent. Hax.

My MTG collection is two rubber maid tubs big with organized decks in one of my oversived dresser drawers.

    Zuty,

Dear god..........O_O I hadn't known about that card. What set is it from? I must have one! I love the Stuffy Doll strategy. Hmm.....that has to be......(carry the one.....)...........That's gotta be like 20,000 Cards!! X_X How do you manage it all?!?!? I'm having difficulties with only 4000!! Sir, I salute you!  (yes, I'm being dramatic, but jesus!!)

Okay then, what was your biggest creature? I can bypass the "most damage" topic. I haven't gotten anything above average. I think 16 or so. meh.

I don't know about that. I think of it more as "magic compressed". Mana can be a hassle, but like me and Zuty agreed, it's part of what the game is. I don't mean to put any words in Zuty's mouth, just simplifying a few statements.

    Re: Does anybody else play?

I agree, Mana is a hassle to get out.

Biggest creature, It would be a mix of two. In my Mana Excel 12-Post Deck I had a 75/75 DSC and a 55/55 Platinum Angel with Shield of Kaldra on it. I did this by waiting patiently with a Forgotten Ancient out and then moving the +1/+1 counters around. I could have had way more if I ran Doubling Season.

The card Kindle the Carnage is from Dissension. Very, very, underplayed.

    Re: Does anybody else play?

Yes, I've had much fun with Doubling Season. Currently I have it in a black/green thallid deck. The one from Time Spiral. I'm glad that Kindle the carnage is that recent, it gives me a better chance of owning it. It won't be underplayed for long, not if I have anything to say about it! DSC and Platinum Angel are two of my favorite creatures to drop on people. It's that whole, "You CAN'T win" or "He CAN'T die" thing. I like watching them struggle to find ways to get rid of them. Got any tips for an all artifact deck? I've been having trouble making one that doesn't drag it's feet until I die.

     --Draeg

P.S.-Zuty, I was wrong. It wasn't Mishra with stuffy doll, it was Kaervek. My bad.
